Foundation Facilitator Training

Join our year-long, facilitator training in Trauma & Family Constellations, designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to guide others through this profound healing process. Led by experienced facilitator Katherina Kavungu, the programme combines online and in-person learning, spread across 6 weekends and 6 modules, totalling 117 hours.

This certification programme prepares you to become a Trauma & Family Constellation Facilitator, empowering you to lead constellation workshops and support others in resolving deep-rooted emotional and relational issues. Whether you're new to the field or looking to expand your expertise, this training offers a transformative learning and healing journey for all participants, while providing a great opportunity for professional development.


Training Structure:

The training consists of 6 Modules. A total of 10 training days (plus assignments) is the minimum required to receive Certification as a Trauma & Family Constellation Facilitator.

Format: Hybrid (Online and In-Person)

Duration: 6 weekends, 6 modules, 117 hours total

Training Modules:

  • Module 1: Historical development of Family Constellations, types of constellations, Bert Hellinger: Classical Constellations, the in-forming field, "Movements of the Soul," the family of origin, the current family, dynamics in family systems: orders of love, basic relationship patterns, entanglements, resolutions

  • Module 2: Working with Family Constellations in the tradition of Bert Hellinger, preparation, clarifying the client's issue, what to set up, beginning a constellation, the role of the facilitator, working without intention, dual attention, holding space, choosing the representatives, interventions, solution statements, moving rituals, ending a constellation, follow-up care;
    Special constellations: Death, illness, family secrets, twins, abortion, adoption, foster children, couples, blended families, non-verbal constellations

  • Module 3: Trauma and Identity – The Intention Method after Franz Ruppert (Identity-Oriented Psychotrauma Therapy "IoPT"), the human psyche, identity, trauma, multi-generational psychotraumatology, the healing process

  • Module 4: Working with the Intention Method after Franz Ruppert (IoPT) – Self-encounter with the Intention Method, the trauma of identity, the trauma of love, the trauma of sexuality, the trauma of being a perpetrator

  • Module 5: The facilitator's role, self-awareness, a client-centered approach according to Rogers, directive and non-directive facilitation, the risk of using authority, difficult moments in constellations, keeping the client in focus, knowing when a constellation is over, ethics & boundaries, aftercare, legal aspects

  • Module 6: Facilitating individual constellations, client conversations in individual settings, using questionnaires, working with floor markers, figurines, imagination, decision-making constellations, online constellations

Throughout the programme, students will engage in theoretical study and practical exercises, including live demonstrations and the opportunity to facilitate their own constellations. This training offers a safe and supportive space for personal and professional growth.

Each module is structured around a combination of the following activities, tailored to the content being explored and the natural rhythm of the group:

  • Review of Learning
  • Teaching
  • Q&A
  • Live Demonstration – teacher and student working in the group
  • Reflecting on the experience and material presented

As part of the Foundation Facilitator Training in Trauma & Family Constellations, participants will complete two assignments focusing on the methods of Bert Hellinger and Franz Ruppert. These assignments are designed to deepen your understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical applications within the context of systemic and trauma-focused constellations.

Training Dates 2025/26:

• Module 1: 21.3.-23.3.2025

• Module 2: 2.5.-4.5.2025

• Module 3: 4.7.-6.7.2025

• Module 4: 12.9.-14.9.2025

• Module 5: 14.11.-16.11.2025

• Module 6: 16.01.-18.01.2026


Training Schedule for each Module:

• Fridays (Online, Using Zoom): 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm

• Saturdays (In-Person): 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

• Sundays (In-Person): 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Only classes hosted online via Zoom are recorded. Students cannot attend an In-Person class online via Zoom.

A certificate will be presented at the end of the training, assuming students attend a minimum of 10 training days (plus assignments).

In-person training will be held in Dublin.


Between Modules:

Between modules, students are encouraged to form self-organised study groups. These groups provide an excellent opportunity to practice skills, deepen understanding of the material, and foster collaborative learning with fellow participants. Some study groups continue after the training has finished and provide an opportunity for continual professional development.


Supervision:

Supervision is available for each student after the training is completed to support their ongoing professional development. In addition, monthly group supervision sessions are offered, providing a space for shared learning, feedback, and continued growth as students apply their skills in real-world practice.
